VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR--COLUMBUS, INDIANA
The Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position available beginning August 2008 at its Columbus, Indiana, College of Technology location. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate MET classes and laboratories; create innovative instructional materials and laboratory experiences; promote the MET program through local, regional and national engagement; participate in program assessment activity related to accreditation; and participate in other departmental service. Applicants must have a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field, plus recent relevant industrial experience. Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred. A doctorate and/or professional registration are desirable, but not required. The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for courses in the areas of materials, manufacturing, and solid mechanics.
