Advising
Registration
For successful registration each semester . . .
-
Go on-line for the Schedule of Classes.
-
Registration always begins early in October and early in March.
-
Make an appointment to see your academic advisor as soon as you are eligible to do so.
-
Determine many hours you want to take.
-
Check to make sure you meet all the prerequisites for the classes you want to take.
-
Make sure class times work together Prepare a workable schedule to bring with you to your appointment in order to avoid time conflicts.
-
Follow up after the first computer run to see that you were scheduled successfully. Check this by looking on SSlNFO or with your advisor.
-
If you try to enroll in a class that is full, you will be placed on an "oversubscribed" or waiting list. As enrolled students drop the course (or if more space is added to the course), you will move up on the oversubscribed list.
-
If space becomes available before the second week of classes, the course will be added to your schedule, but revised schedules are not automatically issued. It is your responsibility to check your schedule for changes by looking on SSlNFO or with your advisor.
-
Pay your fees before the date printed on your invoice. Return your fee invoice even if the amount due is "0." If you do not return your fee invoice, your registration will automatically be canceled by the University. There is no guarantee that you will get back in the same classes if your schedule is canceled. You may be able to make arrangements with the Bursar's Office to defer your fees if you cannot make the payment deadline.
