Supporting the personal, academic, and professional success of students from diverse backgrounds
Diversity provides a learning environment that is rich in perspectives. In today’s global economy, it is essential for students to be exposed to and gain appreciation for individual perspectives derived from varying cultural, gender, and socio-economic backgrounds.
It is the goal of the College of Technology’s Technology Diversity Program to create a climate within the college that fosters and values diversity and welcomes all students, faculty, and staff.
Support Programs and Resources
Academic Boot Camp (ABC)
Historical data has shown that students are often faced with a wide range of issues that may cause their first semester in college to be especially challenging. As the first semester is so crucial both to a student's college experience and their GPA, the College of Technology has partnered with the colleges of Engineering and Science to coordinate the Academic Boot Camp (ABC) program.
Tutoring
The Technology Diversity Program office can assist students in scheduling tutoring sessions for any College of Technology course. In addition, the office can work through other University resources to schedule tutoring for general education classes.
Mentoring
The program director has an open door policy. Students are always welcome to stop in for a variety of support services.
Career Counseling
Services such as resume building, practice interview sessions, and job search coaching are available.
